The Providence DSA #NationalizeGrid campaign is well under way! At our January general meeting, we will be expanding upon our efforts to achieve energy and utilities justice for all Rhode Islanders, including plenty of ways for members of the community to jump in and get involved.

Some changes are under way at Providence DSA, as well, so we will be discussing special elections for two co-chair positions, our social media coordinator ex-comm position, and potentially opening up more available leadership positions

Please join us at SEIU on Monday, January 22nd at 7:00 p.m., and come with us afterwards for drinks and camaraderie (location TBD).

SEIU 1199 is located along 10x, 28 and 29 bus lines. It is wheelchair accessible, and if you want or need a ride, we have volunteers who are willing to make sure you can have your voice heard.

In lieu of a general meeting this month, we’ve decided to schedule another working group session. This will give us time to reconnect with members of all working groups – not just the one(s) you belong to – so we can coordinate our efforts. The nazis haven't learned their lesson from the last nazi rally in Boston. A fascist group that calls itself "Resist Marxism" plans on holding a “Rally for the Republic” November 18 on the Boston Common. We plan on taking a group to protest. Stay tuned for further details.

Join Providence DSA and The George Wiley Center as we break out into working groups sessions in order to see how we can best utilize everyone's resources to take on National Grid's energy hikes, make sure no one gets shut off, and move toward our long-term goal of sustainable and economically just public utilities for all.
